How many lipsticks does a woman need?

Makeup is definitely my lifesaver! Each time I apply my wonderfully natural camouflage, I'm impressed with what cosmetics companies have accomplished. Lip color is particularly an amazing way to transform your entire look. But, how many lipsticks is too many? If you're trying to cut down or just take the bare essentials on your next vacation, stick to these shades...

A Rocking Pink
From birth little girls are bombarded with shades of pink. As an adult, the color has the ability to make you look perfectly innocent or you can Up the Amp with M.A.C. Cosmetics for a edgier look. For daytime: pat lightly until you reach your desired coverage. Heading for a night out? Layer it on and let it speak for itself.

A Sultry Red

There is a timeless beauty in a ruby pout. It's important to find a shade that suits your complexion. To unlock your own old Hollywood glamour,  I recommend going to a department store and letting the pros help you find your perfect shade! It's well worth an investment on a shade that will never grow old.

A Tasteful Nude

A nude lipstick is a must have. The right shade absolutely depends on your particular skin tone, so shop around until you find one that's just right. A nude shade will go with anything and will keep your look pulled together even on our minimal makeup days.

Live Beautifully Tip:
While having your staple lip shades is important, don't be afraid to try one trendy color each season. The key is to be comfortable with the finished look.

  1. I just returned from a weeks vacation in California. I always find it interesting how what we spend so much time planning and packing ends up not being what we want to wear once we arrive. This vacation I ended up wanting to wear my casual clothes and was in a lip gloss mood instead of lipstick. When home I wear lip stick almost exclusively.

  2. I wish I wore lipstick. I wear lip gloss; close, but not the same. I have oodles of colors. It's hard to find a color that meshes well with my skin and when I do, I buy it out. My favorite is called Rave by Avon.
